Google hd600 response graph and look at how some of the graphs look markedly different even if you account for graph unit scaling

The headbands, cups, grilles, connections, branding, and velour padding are all the same, though the hd600 utilizes the 4 nugget pads for the headband while the other 3 have the cratered pad that the original 650 employed. Can someone help me choosing between hd600 and hd6xx The 6xx from drop appears to be cheaper however a few extra bucks should not spol the party Sennheiser hd600 and hd6xx are two fabulous headphones with excellent features Thinking about all the features of these two headphones, i would strongly suggest you go with sennheiser hd6xx. Now if you look at the current amazon prices of at the time of this review the hd600 is $286, the hd650 is $367, and the hd660s is $500

And then of course to complicate things further we have the hd6xx for $200 every few months when they are on massdrop And then to complicate things even further i tend to like buying lightly used cans on ebay. In fairness, these are a pretty hard comparison to make between the two because, even looking at raw data (hd600 innerfidelity charts vs Hd650 innerfidelity charts, yes it's for hd650's, but that pretty much what these are), there are only some minor differences in resolution and a slight jump in impulse response. Best way i can explain it, the hd6xx sounds more like a fun, or more relaxing version of the hd600 We all know how the 650 is a bit warmer, but in direct comparison this did tend to make them sound a little more relaxing.

The hd6xx (tests the same as the 650) is simply better than both

You didn't mention the hd580, but it was the original in the 580/600/650 family It's a great headphone, too, but it has more grain than the 600 They kept improving the design with each model.
