Just replaced our furnace and central air system last week and installed a nest thermostat to go along with the new system. For our heat powered by a boiler, it was beyond ridiculously terrible I eventually had to remove it and replace it with an ecobee because nest just couldn't figure out how to make our house comfortable despite hours of nest tech support trying to suggest things. The nest thermostat works best as a 1 room heat/cool controller to 1 hvac setup I don't think the newer versions have really gotten into multiple hvac controls or anything, and usually it's better to leave that to hvac controllers anyways.
