Items purchased at marshalls may not be returned to t.j Maxx or any of our other sister brands. I'm unsure if this applies to all locations, but at the tj maxx i work at (fl) we were told that things changed a few months ago and that we are able to accept marshall's and homegoods returns as long as the customer has the receipt The system will ask you, is this a marshall's return? after scanning the receipt, to which you would select yes and then the process would be. Tj maxx /returns hi everybody We have had multiple people come in trying to return items (kitchen items) they purchased at a stand alone tj maxx store
Some of my manager's will take them back and transfer them to a home goods number but a couple of my managers are like no they have to take it back to the stand alone store they purchased it from. At our homegoods store, we will accept returns from homesense if it's an item we also carry We do not accept any marshalls nor tj maxx merch at all (unless it's from a tjmaxx/hg combo store and a home item) According to our managers, that's the policy Results may vary (apparently), haha. You can get banned from returning so many dollars worth of items without a receipt, but the other day i had a woman (i work at tjmaxx) and she had $800 in returns.
Please note that items purchased at a t.j Maxx store can only be returned to a t.j Maxx store, in accordance with this return policy Maxx may not be returned to marshalls or any of our other sister brands. We are not supposed to do this and those stores make it harder for the ones who follow proper policies Unless it came from a combo store (homegoods items from homegoods/tj maxx combo can go to standalone tj maxx)
The register may be able to physically do it, but that's a flaw in the newer register system Policy is still the same. It seems like a simple thing, but their operations, at least for returns, are kept distinct.
