It's bad enough to change If it's been getting low, it will eventually grenade the diff, or wear out the bushing or bearing behind the seal and a new seal will just wobble too much to seal I'd have the seal replaced if you plan on keeping the vehicle. Well, 2 months after replacing the pinion seal , its leaking again Vents are clear but i did notice some grooving in the yoke when i had it apart last. You really shouldn't have any issues with a leak at the pinion seal as long as your're careful putting it all back together

I crawled under to inspect my work and found the undercarriage bathed. If the pinion nut doesn't end up in the same exact spot, the crush sleeve will crush further if too tight or be too loose and the pinion depth will be off causing an improper mesh pattern Both my vette and ta leak and i'm reluctant to change the seals. So i have a pinion seal leak on my 2019 silverado lt It has the su7 axle and only 46k miles I diy all my own maintenance and minor repairs and prefer to do this myself
